The Sioni of Dmanisi
The Sioni of Dmanisi was built in the VI century nearby village Small Dmanisi. The middle nave is the only part of the church that has maintained the original look, with sidewalls being considerably remodelled. On the Southern side the temple has a doorway and christening area, on the North – a work room. The temple used to be adorned as the inscriptions and the frescoes of the saints show. Later, in years 1213-1222, a luxurious doorway was built during the reign of the King Lasha-Giorgi, as one of the inscriptions on it says.
Ertguleba Charity Fund donated a Feast Stone and a iconostasis to the church.
