The Saint John Temple

The Saint John Temple stands a few meters from the Blue Monastery. It was built in 1898-1901 by the King of Caucasia. The legend has it that this was the exact of location of the pioneer Saint John Church built in VII.

The church belonged to the Mtskheta-Tbilisi Eparchy, although the prayers were read in Russian, now they’re read in Georgian.

Ertguleba Charity Fund restored the facades of the church and painted its entrance and interior.
